Hi Magnus,
Hope you are well. Are there any instructions online with regards to the upgrade procedure. I think from memory there was a previous post somewhere that one of the other users had asked, which I think from memory a reply back was to the effect that templates and the crux of the code as such were kept seperate.

If I do alot of work on my design -i.e. look & feel and make changes to omit certain features of the shopping cart - will I need to upload those specific files over any new versions, or, with any subsequent versions, is it just a matter of updating some other files? (Hope that made sense!!)

Sorry for the round about question, just trying to figure out how much work I put into the next site or to wait for Version 7.

Thanks,

Lolla

Hey Lolla

Both the designs and the code are kept separate as u know. All features you have put into your design (whether you decide to show certain info in ur shopping cart etc) will not intefere with any of the code (if that makes sense)

so to answer ur question, all templates you design now should allow you to keep ALL the things you have decided to include in your designs and all u have to do is upload the new code (minus the /tplates dir and the defaultheader and footer files in the /templates dir which you are prob designing now)

hope that helps - magnus said on a previous post of mine that V7 will be available within the next few days/weeks.

Andr

Hello,
The concept of keeping both the design and code separate is sooooo logical!

Thanks for the reply from both of you... I can continue to tinker away now.

Hope you are both well.

Cheers,

Lolla
