Re: Brands

You can display these as a list of links or dropdown. Dropdown is non seo, if you list (optionally with logos etc) you can have seo....I suspect you could doctor the dropdown to do seo if you wanted to with the current available tags. (view page source of dev install).

Thank you for the feedback though, it is invaluable - the more people who test the less bugs that should get into the wild
i see what you mean now.

changed this in viewproducts.php:

PHP Code:
<form method="post" action="<?="${shopurl}";?>sections/<?="$_GET[category_id]/$_GET[nresults]/$_GET[position]/";?>">
and this in .htaccess:

PHP Code:
 RewriteRule ^sections/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/$ /viewproducts.php?category_id=$1&position=$2&nresults=$[L
now have working SEO url, just without the category name, which for me isnt really an issue as the canonical tag tells search engines the correct URL.

EDIT: quick change, added a function to add the category name:

PHP Code:
function CatSeoName() {
    if (isset(
$_GET['category_id']) && $_GET['category_id'] >= 1) {

$sql "SELECT category_name FROM categories WHERE category_id = '".mysql_real_escape_string($_GET['category_id'])."'";

$result = @mysql_query($sql) or die("Error!!");

$row mysql_fetch_array($result);

$string str_replace(' ','_',preg_replace('/[^A-Za-z0-9+_-\s]/','',strtolower($row['category_name'])));

        echo
$string;
    }

and then update the string in viewproducts.php:

PHP Code:
<form method="post" action="<?="${shopurl}";?>sections/<?="$_GET[category_id]/$_GET[nresults]/$_GET[position]/";?><?echo CatSeoName();?>/">
could probably manipulate this if you wanted to have say the sort order test in the url, like www.blah.com/sections/23/1/0/home_office/A-Z/

just found a good reason to not do as i have above, changing the rewrite rule in the .htaccess breaks the page pagination.

.htaccess rule needs to be like this:

PHP Code:
 RewriteRule ^sections/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/$ /viewproducts.php?category_id=$1&position=$3&nresults=$[L
and viewproducts.php needs to be like this:

PHP Code:
<form method="post" action="<?="${shopurl}";?>sections/<?="$_GET[category_id]/";?><?echo CatSeoName();?><?="/$_GET[nresults]/$_GET[position]/";?>">
and now pagination and SEO sort order will work, the URL has just been changed slightly.

Cheers,
Ry

Does the new Storesprite have a turnover report and order notes in e-mail as standard features?

Order notes on email = Y

Turnover report = N

However, we are looking at using google charts for some new reporting - but not in this release (otherwise it will never get released). If anyone has ideas for reports that will be genuinely useful for most people - please let us know we can then bear them in mind.
